MUNICIPAL - ALGERIA

A municipal wastewater treatment plant in Skikda, on Algeria's northeastern Mediterranean coast. The installation was carried out by our local partner in Algeria; we supplied the technology — two MP-DW-402 screw presses and an ASP-3000-PP-P automatic polymer preparation station for powder.
The defining feature of this site is the strong seasonal variation in load. Skikda is a coastal city, and the resident population rises sharply during the summer months before dropping back to its baseline in winter. The sludge handling line therefore has to cover both regimes — a high summer peak and a much lower winter operation — without clogging, without fluctuating cake dryness, and without switching to a different dewatering principle.
Why two MP-DW-402 units
Running two parallel units lets the plant operate "by season":
- In winter, one unit runs at its optimal loading; the other stays in standby for service and maintenance.
- In the summer peak, both units can run in parallel and absorb the higher sludge inflow.
- During planned downtime on one unit, the plant is never left without dewatering capacity.
